After having deep-dived into the world of coffee, I realised that as a commodity, it is one of the world’s highest traded items. It is also one of the most consumed beverages in the world.
The best fact I discovered was that coffee is actually a fruit! I wonder if I can log it towards my daily Discovery Vitality fruit servings.
With around 2.25 billion cups of coffee consumed daily, the thought of adding my own brand to the world of coffees has quite literally felt like throwing a needle into a haystack.
My goal is to offer a quality product while sharing some interesting facts about coffee that may impact your taste buds as they have mine. Once your taste buds have translated facts into flavours, it is quite likely that you will be labelled ‘coffee snob’ by those closest to you.
‘Mad scientist’ comes into play when you start building your arsenal of coffee equipment.
While the online store may not be vast at this stage, it has just the right things to get anyone brewing and enjoying a good cup of coffee. Whether you’re making an Espresso, an Americano or a Cappuccino, any of the La Montagna™ coffee variants will tick all the boxes.
One of my favourite brew methods is Cold Brew. And not only for coffee 😉 – It makes a wicked iced-tea.
With our Cold Brew kits, making a tasty coffee that you can enjoy straight out the fridge, on ice, with ice cream, or even heated up, cold brew has never been easier. Good luck not getting hooked on it.
As you will see, I chose to package the traditional coffee bags (with valves) inside boxes rather than leaving them as just the bags. I felt that this was a great way to show off the brand and at the same time, offer a far more unique and aesthetical way for the products to be shown or stored in your kitchen or in your shop.
The unique derivative designs on the side of the packaging make for a colourful and informative stacked display. If you are using these at home, I find it hard not to leave them out on the counter just to be able to look at them, but I may be a little biased.

Even though we are based in Cape Town, our reach is National. We use trusted courier companies to deliver your coffee to you as fast as possible.
Our coffee beans come from a variety of countries; Rwanda, Colombia, Uganda and Brazil. They are imported as green beans and roasted to perfection here in Cape Town. Roasting the green coffee beans takes time, investigation and patience.
It is essential to taste the beans at various roast levels, varying blend ratios and brewed as several coffee styles. By doing this, we will be able to determine our ideal roast profile.
